What? Who? Me?

Blog of the Year Award 6 star jpeg

Kim, over at silentlyheardonce.wordpress.com, surprised me a week or so ago by presenting me with this very unexpected award. Kim writes lovely poetry, born of a passionate soul. She writes honestly and openly, sharing her thoughts without fear. Also, she supports her followers by consistently re-blogging their material. Her blog is one I enjoy on many occasion. Just do it. Go visit her, and tell her I said hello, please.

When I say I don’t feel worthy of accepting this award, it is not an act of self-deprecation, but truly a sense of genuine unworthiness. This is because, as of late, I have neither engaged in blogging, nor have I been diligent in reading very many blogs. Some of you will know my plate is a bit full right now, and some days I have just enough energy to smile and remind myself that God is Good. He is Good and His will is divine.

That said, I am astoundingly honored, Kim, so thank you!

From the creators of the award:

Because putting it off any longer would just be rude.

It’s going around I think: procrastination. Award season is among us. It’s funny, isn’t it, how they seem to come in waves of two’s and three’s, and then it will be quiet for a long period of time? I think this is because we are close-knit community who genuinely loves to support one another. Thus, we circulate the awards until they have made their way, like a jasmine scented breeze, to those we have come to appreciate, care for, are inspired by, learn from, etc…

The fact is, however, they are a whole-lotta work. This does not diminish my gratitude or appreciation for those finding me worthy of such an honor, but done right, they take time in responding to. There are the proper thanks to intromit, adhering to the regulations of receiving the award, nominating other bloggers, copying the links, copying the images, and so on and so forth.

I have four people to thank today. FOUR!

Jess, you started this whole thing. Darn you, and your heart-melting kindness.

Terribly Long Overdue

Please forgive me Rose, Lori, and Jueseppi. I promise I have a valid excuse for not writing a post for this sooner. And that excuse is:

lame.

I heard it my mind and it’s just lame, but here it is despite the lameness. The reason for delaying is that I wanted to have the award pictures up on my sidebar before making it “official” and I needed my husband to do that. He forbids me to mess with the codes — no, not true; I forbid myself. Anyhow, he has been overextended lately and I haven’t wanted to bother him; hence the extremeee delay.

Right now I want to thank each of you, respectively.

Rose — Your comments to me, namely left on “Something is Mi  ing” blew me away. Bloggers wait all month to receive a thoughtful, provoking, insightful comment such as that. Everything you do, you do with passion. It’s all there in the way you express yourself without one bit of ambiguity.  Thank you so much for awarding me “The New Blogger Award.” http://taracrow.wordpress.com

Lori — Did a sweeter lady ever exist? Whenever one of Lori’s post comes through my inbox, I stop and go on over to take a look. I never worry about what I might find because Lori, like myself, pursues the Light. And she exudes it. She’s the type of person who comes up with silly nicknames and post things that matter dearly to her. Lori, I thank you for honoring me with “The Sunshine Award.” You are sunshine embodied. http://blessyourhippieheart.wordpress.com

Jueseppi —  What a character! He is intense, direct, and makes no pretenses about his ebullient ardor and advocacy for our countries’ current president. He is generous with praise, and while it can occasionally slip into more baser humor than I personally enjoy or espouse, he gives it freely without expectation. Since following my blog, I don’t think a post has gone by without him taking the time to “like”  it. Thank you, Jueseppi for bestowing “The Hug Award” upon me. http://theobamacrat.wordpress.com

Mille O Tante Grazie!

Translation: Many thanks!

This last week was a humbling one, to say the very least. This Little Light was nominated for two awards by two terrific ladies, mentioned honorably by a talented author, and an incredibly gifted writer/photographer dedicated his Sunday post to me — splitting the honor between myself and one of the aforementioned teriffic ladies above. On top of all that — as if it weren’t enough — my following more than tripled!

*faints*

*quickly recovers*

The first award received was the ABC Award (Awesome Blog Content) Really? Me? Well, shucks!

Hear ye, Hear ye!

What? What did you say? No . . . it can’t be! Not so soon! Is it really true? Oh, what marvelous news indeed! Have we been given the honor of, dare I say it, another award?!?

Okay . . . I apologize if that was just uncomfortable or weird. The thing is, no one really enjoys reading about other people receiving awards. Sure, kind-hearted, warm individuals such as yourselves can be happy for me, but let’s be honest; unless the content is interesting, the procession goes a little something like this:

*Sits down to check e-mail*

*Sees post from “This Little Light”*

*Reads title of post*

*Moves index finger*

*Post deleted*
