About Me and This Little Light ~

I am a writer and a believer who knows there is no better ambition in life than to Love God and Love people.

This Little Light seeks to remind me that I am called to be a light. I am not called to be perfect and I am not called to know everything. I am to be the me Jesus wants using the light He has placed in my heart. That is all and that is everything.

    • Nice to meet you too, Kelly! And yes, we (My husband and I) made the tree. I was inspired by a few ideas on Pinterest (Have you stumbled upon to this revolutionized bulletin board system yet?? If not, let me know and I will send you an invite!) that mostly dealt with paint. My husband, however, the genius that he is, thought it might be smart to build something transportable since we are not in our permanent home. Out of that came the tree crafted of foam, newspaper, and A LOT of hard-work. Well worth it, though! I added most of the finishing touches IE: petals, frames, ribbon, and there you have it! So glad you like it 🙂

    • Wow! Thank you, Jess! What a terrific honor you have bestowed upon me 🙂 I feel like throwing myself a little party, so that’s just what Bella (the pup) and I will do. Turn on some Mercy Me and dance!

    • Great question! We don’t know exactly, though 🙂 We rescued her from the shelter and believe her to be full-blood Chihuahua; though yes, she does look strikingly similar to that of Australian Shepherd. Her eyes, as well, are actually blue, with very large brown splotches. Oh, she is the sweetest . . .my heart swells just typing about her. 🙂

And thank you for the compliment. Yours too is lovely.

  1. Hello Cara.

Thanks for visiting my blog and letting me discover yours. Yours has some very well-written and interesting posts. The one about your insomnia esp. hit a chord with me.

    • My pleasure. You have a wonderful blog, as well, and I enjoyed learning a bit about you, too. 🙂

Thank you for the kind words; I’m thrilled you found a post resonating deeply with you.

      • Oh Dear!!! No I didn’t see it and I am so sorry ( I really hate when I do that). Thank you sooo much sweet girl, for thinking of me. I will post this one very soon! Thanks again!

      • You are so welcome 🙂 No rush! I know how time consuming they are — and if you have already won this particular award, feel free not to make an entirely new post. Usually, I just edit the one I have, adding a line or two of thanks.

      • Thank you, I had not received this particular award. Same to you. I did see that you had previously received the award after the fact and you sure do not have to go through the whole song and dance again. Just know you are appreciated very much!

      • Oh, good! I love being the first to bestow awards. I am sorry I cannot offer you the same . . . but still, coming from you, it means something entirely different to me. 🙂 The appreciation is much reciprocated!

  2. Thanks so much for your visit and like! I hope I wrote well enough to at least capture your attention for a few minutes! I truly enjoyed my visit to your blog and will be returning often, really like your style.
    Stan

    • My pleasure, Stan! And yes, I found your article very interesting. You write with a convicting voice, very believable. Sometimes “voice” is lost in words, and in how we string them together to express our thoughts and emotions.

I am so glad you found something over here you enjoyed. You’re always welcome. 🙂

      Have a wonderful Monday,
      Cara

  3. Hey Cara,

You have such a beautiful blog full of sparkle and wisdom.

Just wanted to personally let you know that I mentioned you in my most recent post at healthdemystified.com, because I just wanted to thank you for what you’ve done to both support my blog and inspire the world.

I’ve also included a backlink over here to your blog, so that hopefully more people will be able to be inspired by your posts.

    -Eric

  4. Just to let you know I dropped by – to officially get to know you, Cara dear. I don’t know how you found me, but I’m ever so glad, and very grateful for your support and encouragement. It is going to be fun to get to know you better …
    Many thanks
    m

    • Thank you for dropping, Mere. Truth be told, I don’t know how I found you . . . I’ll call it Providence’s Hand — He’s usually the one to blame for such Great things. 🙂

Yes, I agree; I look forward to getting to know you better, exchanging thoughts, philosophies, and ideas. Selfishly, I wish you were closer. I think I might like to meet you. The Wandering Gene cannot be pinned down; she is a cloud, drifting to where destiny needs her.

Blessings to you, my sojourning friend.

    • Wow! Thank you, Fashion & Style Guru! I have been nominated for this award once before, but I will make note of your awarding it to me in the original post. Thank you, thank you for thinking of me. 🙂

Heading over to your blog now!
      Blessings,
      Cara

    • Rachel,

Thank you! It is my pleasure to have you over here at This Little Light. Speaking of lights, I was attracted to Your light instantaneously! You, too, my friend, have a stunning soul that stirs my heart. I look forward to partnering by way of prayer in this journey of yours. Please don’t ever hesitate to ask!

      Cara

    • Thank you, Cendriani. And I hope to see you again. I wish I could be of the some help and bridge the language gap, but I’m afraid my French as abysmal. Until then, bless you, and may you enjoy your time in France!

  6. An inspiring , radiant blog that shines bright to every heart that reads it. Beautiful images and thoughts me. My brain started singing the song, “This little light of mine/I’m gonna let it shine…” And it’s wonderful. Thanks.

  7. Cara, many thanks for liking and following my blog – I hope you’ll find subjects of interest in future postings.
Congratulations too on completing your first novel and launching its website, and very best of luck with the new adventure of finding a publisher for it.
(Impressed by the array of activities highlighted on This Little Light blog – particularly when you’ve been writing an 800 page novel!)

  9. Cara, I posted a pic of you and your husband, and a link to your site on my front page. My usual temporary showcase…Hope this is okay – is it? You’re now in my blogroll too.
    Thank you!
    Maria

  10. Thanks for so much joy and inspiration. Thank you for your recent comments. Your husband is a wise, kind hearted man. His belief on the good in all is very inspiring. I will remember his words by heart. The world mourns with the victims and their families. They will be in our thoughts and prayers. What happened in Newtown can happen anywhere and we can no longer be indifferent. As a nation, we all should work and pray together that all wound will heal and that something like this should never happen again. God bless you and your family.Merry Christmas. Wishing you and your family all the blessings of the holidays and every day.

  14. Your Precious Little Pooch is adorable. Is she a specific breed or a breed known only to her mother and father? What is her name? I just started following, but look forward to more ( and more….and yes..more!)
    Happy Writing!

    • Hi Morgan!
So glad you are following along with me!
Oh, isn’t she? I adore her! Her name is Annabella (Bella for short) and she is 100% Chihuahua, so far as we know — she was a rescue and is the little furry love of my life!
      So good to meet you!

    • Sharon, it’s lovely to meet you. Thank you for dropping by. I pray the same for you, friend, and hope that I might never be anything different than what you have thanked me for. I am His!
